For me, reading David Pye became a way to understand the processes of slöjd—how the material, my experience, and my technique interact with one another at these crossroads. It also became clear to me why objects made with predictable jigs became incredibly boring.

The four walls
My motto is 'stay sharp.' It’s a good motto to have when the days feel sluggish and the knife is dull. The motto motivates me to sharpen up, more on a pragmatic level. I've been thinking a bit about what that means...
